My kinda heaven

1. I took a trip last weekend with my husband. It was a photographers dream. Especially the dream of a photographer who ADORES the splendor of fall, but living in a place that just doesn't get as colorful. Color, color everywhere! Before we went, just thinking of it brought a little sting to my eyes--I was SO excited. The beauty did not disappoint. Thank you to my friends who have been anxiously refreshing my blog for pictures (and then asking why I haven't posted yet) for getting me to put some up. Here is a little sampling for you:) Hopefully I'll post more soon.

3. I kept my camera on my lap in the car and shot through the window at times. Just to capture the essence of what we saw and how people lived.

Utah

I went on a trip and have been swamped since I've been home. Here are a few fun shots I took while visiting my grandparents in Utah. Salt Lake City Temple.
My grandpa grew these HUGE zucchini in his garden--impressive.

Connecticut, USA

I took a weekend trip out to Connecticut a week ago to meet up with a few of my longtime girly friends. We all grew up together in Houston and even went to college together. A year ago, we all lived in Texas, but Emily moved to Connecticut, so Natalie and I went out to visit. I was bummed that it wasn't a few weeks later to get the beautiful New England Fall Foliage, so my request was to go to places that I could photograph. Then it poured rain on the one big day that was our "scenic tour." Here is a lighthouse amidst the fog.

The day before we had a bright blue sky, but the day we went to the lighthouse it was grey and murky:(

Natalie yelled to pull the car over to capture the hydrangeas. I figured I should snap a few shots as well. These flowers remind me of her (even before this event).



The lovely homes around the lighthouse. Just like a scene out of a movie.

We even ate at Mystic Pizza in the quaint little town of Mystic, CT. (Do you know the movie with Julia Roberts?) Mmmm, delicious!

Here is my play on "Lifestyle Portraiture" with Emily and her adorable girls. Just one of dad here...we planned to do a family photo shoot, but her husband had to work unexpectedly on the morning we planned to do it, and it poured buckets of rain the rest of the day. Oh well.....
